Depression Counselling

Feeling depressed can really impact our lives making it difficult to find the motivation and energy to complete the simplest of tasks

Depression and feeling low in mood can make us feel tearful, frustrated and empty. It can affect our sleep, memory and eating. It can be too much to even get out of bed some days.

Life events like experiencing a death, losing a job or the end of a relationship can all contribute to our low mood and our inability to function as we usually would.

I can support you to explore your thoughts about how you are feeling and to look at ways to challenge and reframe these in order to help you to overcome negative thoughts and feelings of hopelessness

Working Together

Our work together can help you to improve your relationships with others by improving communication and allowing others to understand how you feel and what you may need from them.

We can explore your behaviours for example, isolating yourself, and whether these behaviours are preventing you from improving how you interact with the world and therefore how you feel both about yourself and others.

Sometimes we will just talk and sometimes if you would like to, we can use worksheets which can help you to identify situations that prompt you to feel low in mood or less able to cope.

Once we have identified how your experiences, past and present, have impacted on you, we can then work towards building your personal knowledge and resilience in order to compile a ‘toolbox’ with the necessary skills and coping mechanisms for you to access in the future.
