Anxiety is a natural part of everyday life but when anxiety increases it can impact on our daily functioning and our ability to cope.

Sometimes anxiety can impact on our relationships making it difficult for us to support others and be supported ourselves. Anxiety can also impact on our ability for personal growth and autonomy. 

Anxiety can affect how we interact with others in the social world and can affect our self esteem and confidence.

Completing simple  daily tasks can feel overwhelming and unmanageable. 

Whether you are experiencing social, health or work anxiety, they all have the commonality of worrying about the future, about what might happen and the consequences around this. Often we predict the worse case scenario 

I can work with you to look at how you experience different situations.

We can look at whether you have any specific triggers and to explore and support you  to develop your own coping skills and ways of managing your anxiety which, in turn will enable you to feel more confident and equipped to manage everyday challenges and situations

I can work with you to identify which situations are the most anxiety provoking, and to explore ways in which you can help yourself to feel more in control and calmer in those situations.

I have worked with people experiencing anxiety for many years and continue to do so now. 

Sometimes it can be about looking at the reality of a situation and challenging thinking and overthinking around that. At other times it can be looking deeper into what may have originally led to feeling anxious in those situations.

Sometimes the work I do with people is about just talking, sometimes it involves completing worksheets in order to realise experiencing and sometimes it’s about setting small goals in order to develop coping skills and to challenge negative thoughts around a specific situation.

I prefer to work on a client led basis and although I may suggest to you to complete a small challenge, I will never push you too far out of your comfort zone. It is important to me that we build a trusting and respectful working relationship.
